第五屆世界童軍大露營

This Jamboree is remembered more particularly as the last Jamboree which Baden-Powell was able to attend before his death in January 1941.
這次大露營更被人們銘記為貝登堡在 1941 年 1 月去世前能夠參加的最後一次大露營。

Queen Wihelmina opened the Jamboree and before her were assembled 27,000 Scouts from 51 countries – including 8,000 from the British Empire.
維赫爾明娜女王為大露營揭幕，在她面前聚集了來自 51 個國家的 27,000 名童子軍，其中包括來自大英帝國的 8,000 名童子軍。

Lord Robert Baden-Powell was 81 when he attended this Jamboree and in his message to Scouts of the World he said:
羅伯特·貝登鮑威爾勳爵 （Lord Robert Baden-Powell） 參加這次大露營時已經 81 歲了，他在給世界童軍的致辭中說：
“I… am nearing the end of my life. Most of you are at the beginning, and I want your lives to be happy and successful. You can make them so by doing your best to carry out the Scout Law all your days, whatever your station and wherever you are…Now goodbye. God bless you all! God bless you all!”
「我……已經走到人生的盡頭了。你們大多數人正處在人生的開端，我希望你們的人生能夠幸福而成功。只要你們一生都盡力遵守童軍規律，無論身在何處、身居何職，你們就能做到……現在，再見了。願上帝保佑你們所有人！願上帝保佑你們所有人！」

It was as though he knew that he would not be able to attend another Jamboree and was giving his greetings to the Scouts of many nations.
就好像他知道自己無法參加另一場大露營，並正在向許多國家的童子軍致以問候。
